We are happy to present our first Progress Diary on the VJStick development. We’ll be discussing where we are and then the direction we are headed. As we intend to make this updates a continuous thing, we do hope you enjoy and follow our progress on this journey.
Design
For this week, the team has set out work on preparing the
framework for the UI and UX designs. We are currently sampling out a number of
UI options and comparing them. We have also made groundwork for our product
model structure and architecture. Both at control (mobile) and console levels
(PC/TV).
VJStick will be web-based and will require both the
controlling device and the viewing screen to have access to the internet. Our
earliest focus is on browser-based gaming experience, with accessible titles
played from our platform. We also intend to keep our controller interface as
user-friendly as possible with the possibility of extra user-customizations, in
future.
Our design goal for next week will be to begin actual UI
design work based on our summary idea-drafts.
Code
Just like with design, our coding work this week has been
based around preparation framework. We have decomposed a few control sequences
and have compared their efficiency in relation to an end-user experience.
Our code target for next week will be to start actual work
on the various algorithms by which the event handlers will run, both for
controller and web-console.
